What is a click speed test?

A click speed test, also known as a CPS test, is a popular game used to measure the speed and accuracy of one's mouse clicks. The objective of the game is to click as many times as possible in 10 to 60 seconds, depending on which version of the game you are playing. There are several versions of the game, each requiring different strategies and techniques for getting the highest score.

The concept behind a click speed test is straightforward and simple. A user presses their left mouse button repeatedly in rapid succession while attempting to achieve the maximum number of clicks within a given time limit. Depending on the version, there may be bonuses or penalties for incorrect clicks (clicking outside of certain defined areas) or consecutive clicks that surpass a certain threshold. Generally speaking, however, players try to achieve as many correct clicks as possible without making any mistakes while attempting to beat their previous best score or that of their friends or opponents.

Click speed testing can become quite competitive with some players devoting hours at a time trying to perfect their technique and increase their results. Top-ranking players of this game often have incredibly fast clicking speeds with impressive accuracy records. The Virtual Reality gaming industry has taken notice of these skillful players and have gone so far solicit top performers for potential employment opportunities in interaction design, UX design, and even coding due to such players' adeptness with quick reflexes and precision mouse techniques.
